SEO and content
WordPress SEO services from a developer who fixes what the audit finds
My WordPress SEO services cover the part of SEO that depends on how WordPress is set up and coded: the SEO plugin, the theme's templates, what gets indexed, structured data and speed. I also work on keywords and content, but the difference is that I can open the theme and fix a problem myself instead of sending you a report to pass to someone else. WooCommerce stores get the same treatment, plus the issues that only online shops have.
What’s included
- WordPress SEO audit: indexing, crawl waste, duplicate pages, templates and Search Console errors
- Yoast SEO or Rank Math configuration, or a clean move from one to the other
- Theme and page builder fixes: title tags, heading structure, canonical tags, pagination
- Indexing rules for archives, tags, search pages, attachments and filtered URLs
- XML sitemaps, robots.txt and redirects for changed or deleted pages
- Structured data for your business, articles, products and breadcrumbs
- On-page work on key pages: titles, descriptions, internal links and content gaps
- WooCommerce SEO for product, category and filter pages
- Search Console setup and a short written plan for what to do next
What my WordPress SEO services include, and who they are for
WordPress SEO services are for site owners whose WordPress site is live, has decent content, and still does not show up for the searches that matter. Often the problem is not the writing. It is a theme that wraps the logo in an h1 on every page, an SEO plugin left on default settings, thousands of tag and filter URLs competing with the pages you care about, or the "Discourage search engines from indexing this site" box still ticked from the staging days.
This page is about rankings on a site you already have. If you need the site built or rebuilt, that is custom WordPress development, and I build with SEO in mind from the first template. If your site is not WordPress, a general technical SEO audit is the better starting point.
It is not a fit if you want guaranteed first-page rankings by a date. No one can honestly promise that, and I will not.
Yoast SEO, Rank Math and the WordPress SEO setup most sites get wrong
Installing Yoast SEO or Rank Math is the easy part. A proper WordPress SEO setup means deciding what each plugin setting should be for your site, then checking that the theme and other plugins do not undo it.
- Two plugins doing the same job: an SEO plugin plus a theme or schema plugin both printing titles, meta descriptions or JSON-LD, so Google sees duplicates or conflicting data.
- Indexable thin pages: tag archives, author archives on single-author sites, date archives, internal search results and media attachment pages. WordPress 6.4 turned attachment pages off for new installs, but older sites still have them.
- Theme template problems: a hard-coded title tag, headings chosen for their size rather than their meaning, or a page builder that outputs the page title as plain text.
- Two sitemaps: the WordPress core sitemap and the plugin sitemap both live, with one of them listing noindexed or redirected URLs.
- Broken redirects: slugs changed without redirects, or redirect chains left from an old migration.
Why a WordPress developer and SEO expert in one person helps
Most SEO audits end with a list of fixes that someone else has to make. On WordPress, that someone is often a developer who does not know why the change matters, or a plugin that only half solves it. As a WordPress developer and SEO expert, I make the change myself: a child theme template edit, a filter in a small custom plugin using Yoast or Rank Math hooks, or a redirect rule on the server. Nothing gets lost between the person who found the problem and the person who fixes it.
If you have searched for a "wordpress developer & seo expert", this is what that combination looks like in practice. I write PHP every day, and I do keyword research, on-page SEO and content work for clients as well. As a WordPress SEO expert I also keep speed in view, because a slow theme drags down everything else; if that is the main problem, see WordPress speed optimization.
I am based in India and work remotely with clients in different time zones; we agree update times at the start. You work directly with me, not an account manager. My client WordPress and SEO work is private, but I can walk you through it on a call.
WooCommerce SEO services for product and category pages
WooCommerce SEO services deal with problems that a blog or brochure site never has. A store with a few hundred products can generate tens of thousands of URLs through filters, sorting and add-to-cart links, and search engines waste their time crawling them instead of your real pages.
As a WooCommerce SEO expert, the work I usually do:
- Control filter, sort and add-to-cart parameter URLs with canonical tags, noindex and robots rules, chosen per case rather than blocked blindly
- Write unique category page copy, and replace manufacturer descriptions copied across many stores
- Handle out-of-stock and discontinued products: keep pages that will return, redirect retired ones to the closest match
- Product structured data with price, availability and reviews, checked for errors in Search Console
- Internal links between categories, related products and buying guides
- Fix slow category and product templates, which hurts both rankings and sales
Schema, content and the rest of on-page SEO on WordPress
Yoast and Rank Math produce a basic schema graph for your organization, pages and articles. I check it is accurate, connect it to the right business details, and add what is missing, such as LocalBusiness for a local service firm or Product for items sold outside WooCommerce. Larger structured data projects sit under schema markup.
Technical fixes only pay off when the pages target the right searches. For key pages I map each one to a main keyword, rewrite titles and descriptions, add internal links between related pages and point out content gaps. Deeper keyword and content work is a separate piece of work, which I can also do.
What affects the cost of WordPress SEO services
The cost depends on the size of the site and how much needs fixing, so there is no fixed price list. A fixed quote follows a short call or a written brief, usually after I have looked at Search Console data.
- The number of pages, posts and products, and how many templates the theme uses
- Whether the theme or page builder needs code changes, or only settings
- WooCommerce, and how many filters and attributes the store has
- Whether you want a one-off audit and fixes, or monthly SEO work after that
- How much content needs writing or rewriting
How the work runs
Look at the data
I review Search Console, analytics and a full crawl of the site to see what is indexed, what ranks and where search engines are wasting time.
Audit the WordPress setup
Theme templates, SEO plugin settings, other plugins that add meta or schema, sitemaps, redirects and speed are checked against what the crawl found.
Agree a prioritized plan
You get a short list of fixes ordered by likely impact and effort, so the work that matters most is done first.
Fix it on staging, then live
Code and settings changes are made and tested on a staging copy, then deployed. Content changes go straight into the editor.
Monitor and report
I watch Search Console for indexing changes and errors over the following weeks, and report what moved and what to do next.

Questions
Is WordPress good for SEO?
Yes, WordPress is a solid base for SEO, but it is not optimized out of the box. Clean URLs, editable titles and good plugins are all available; the problems usually come from the theme, page builder and plugin choices made on top of it, which is what I fix.
Yoast or Rank Math: which is better?
Both do the job well, and the settings matter far more than the brand. I usually keep whichever you already use, because switching has a small risk and little gain. If you do switch, I migrate titles, descriptions and redirects and check nothing is lost.
Can my theme or plugins hurt my SEO?
Yes. Heavy themes slow pages down, some themes misuse headings or hard-code title tags, and plugins can create duplicate pages or print conflicting meta and schema. A WordPress SEO audit finds these, and most can be fixed without changing your design.
Will you change my theme or design?
Not unless you want me to. Most fixes happen in templates, settings and code behind the scenes, and visible changes are limited to things like headings or content you approve first. If the theme itself is the problem, I explain the options before touching anything.
Do you also handle WordPress speed and security?
Yes. Speed affects SEO and sales, and a hacked site can be dropped from search or show a browser warning. Small speed fixes are part of WordPress SEO work; a larger speed project or a cleanup after a hack is quoted as separate work.
How long does WordPress SEO take to show results?
Technical fixes are often visible in Search Console within a few weeks, as Google recrawls the site. Ranking changes usually take a few months and depend on competition and content. I cannot guarantee rankings, but I can show you clearly what changed and why.
Do you do SEO for WooCommerce stores?
Yes. WooCommerce SEO covers product and category pages, filter and sorting URLs, product structured data and out-of-stock handling. Stores have more ways to go wrong than ordinary sites, so the audit is more detailed.
