Landing page design services: copy, design and fast code in one

My landing page design services cover the whole page: the copy, the layout, the build and the tracking, done by one person who understands all four. Most landing pages fail for boring reasons: the headline does not match the ad, the page loads slowly on a phone, or the form submits but nobody can see which campaign produced the lead. I fix those reasons first, then make the page look good.

What’s included

  • Landing page copywriting: headline, offer, proof, objections and call to action
  • Wireframe and visual design in Figma, or a build from your existing design file
  • Hand-coded HTML and CSS, or a lightweight WordPress build if your team edits content there
  • Mobile-first layout tested on real phones, not only a resized browser window
  • Forms connected to email, your CRM, Mailchimp or a webhook, with spam protection
  • Conversion tracking: GA4 key events, Google Ads conversions and Meta Pixel through Google Tag Manager
  • UTM and click ID capture into hidden form fields, so each lead carries its campaign
  • Speed work on images, fonts and scripts so the page passes Core Web Vitals
  • A second variant for testing when you have the traffic to make a test meaningful

What landing page design services include, and who they suit

A landing page is a single page with a single job: get a visitor from an ad, an email or a launch post to take one action. Book a call, request a quote, start a trial, download a guide. Everything on the page either supports that action or gets cut. That is the difference from a homepage, which has to serve many visitors with many goals. If you are unsure which you need, I wrote a short guide on landing page vs website.

These landing page design services suit businesses paying for traffic (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn), founders launching a product or a waitlist, and agencies that need a page built quickly for a client campaign. They are not a good fit if you need a full multi-page site with a blog and service pages; that is business website development, and it is a different project with different priorities.

Why most landing pages leak leads (and the fixes I apply)

A high converting landing page is rarely the prettiest one. It is the one where nothing gets in the visitor's way. These are the problems I find most often when I look at a page that gets clicks but not enquiries:

  • No message match. The ad promises "same-day AC repair in Austin" and the page opens with "Welcome to our company". I write the headline to repeat the promise and the search terms of the ad group, and I build separate variants when ad groups target different intents.
  • Too many exits. Full navigation, social icons and footer links give visitors ten ways to leave. A campaign page keeps one goal and removes the rest, while keeping a privacy policy link that ad platforms expect.
  • Slow on mobile. Page builders often ship hundreds of kilobytes of CSS and JavaScript the page never uses. I size the hero image for the viewport, preload it as the Largest Contentful Paint element, load fonts with swap and matched fallbacks to avoid layout shift, and defer third-party tags.
  • Tracking that lies. A conversion tag on a thank-you page that fires again on every refresh, or a form event that fires before validation passes, inflates numbers and misleads Smart Bidding. I fire one event per successful submission and test it in Tag Assistant and the GA4 DebugView.
  • Leads that vanish. Forms sent with the server's default PHP mail function often land in spam. I send through authenticated SMTP or a transactional mail service with SPF and DKIM set up, and store each lead so nothing is lost if an email fails.

A landing page for Google Ads: speed, relevance and a clean conversion

If you are building a landing page for Google Ads, the page affects what you pay. Google's Quality Score weighs expected click-through rate, ad relevance and landing page experience, and the last one depends on how relevant, clear and usable the page is on mobile. A fast page that answers the search directly helps all three.

I also capture the gclid and UTM parameters into hidden fields so that the lead in your CRM shows which campaign, ad group and keyword produced it. That makes offline conversion imports possible later, and it means you can judge campaigns by real enquiries, not just form fills. Where consent is required (for visitors in the EEA and UK, for example), I set up Google Consent Mode so tags respect the visitor's choice.

HTML CSS landing page or WordPress: which build is right?

Both work, and I build both. The choice comes down to who edits the page afterwards and how fast it must be.

  • A hand-coded HTML CSS landing page is the fastest option. It has no theme, no plugins and almost no JavaScript, so it is easy to get good Core Web Vitals scores on a cheap host. It suits campaign pages that change rarely, or teams with a developer on hand.
  • A WordPress landing page suits teams who want to change headlines, prices and testimonials themselves. I build it as a lean block-based template rather than a heavy page builder layout, so it stays editable without slowing down.
  • From your Figma file. If a designer has already done the layout, I can build it as designed. For full site builds from a design, see Figma to WordPress.

Why hire one person for copy, design and landing page development services

Most landing pages pass through three people: a copywriter, a designer and a developer. Each hand-off loses something. The copy gets cut to fit the design, the design gets simplified to fit the build, and nobody owns tracking. I write, design and code the page myself, so a change to the offer can move from the headline to the form fields to the conversion event in one sitting.

I am also a working SEO, so pages I build have clean headings, sensible titles and fast load times by default. That matters for pages that should rank as well as convert. Landing page work for clients is private, but I am happy to walk you through examples on a call.

What affects the cost and timeline of a landing page

There is no fixed price list, because two landing pages can differ a lot in effort. The main drivers are whether I write the copy or you supply it, whether a design exists, how many sections and variants you need, how many forms and integrations there are, and how much tracking has to be set up from scratch. A single page with supplied copy and a clear brief is a short project. A page with original copy, two variants and CRM integration takes longer.

After a short call or a written brief, you get a fixed quote and a delivery date. The quote lists exactly what is included, so there are no surprise extras later.

How the work runs

  1. Brief and offer

We agree on the one action the page should drive, who the visitor is, where the traffic comes from and what the ad or email promises. I ask for the ad copy and keywords so the page can match them.

  2. Copy and wireframe

I write the page copy section by section and lay it out as a simple wireframe. You review the words and structure before any design time is spent.

  3. Design and build

I design the page, then build it in HTML and CSS or WordPress. You get a staging link to check on your own phone.

  4. Forms and tracking

Forms are connected and tested end to end, from submission to inbox or CRM. Conversion tags are set up in Tag Manager and verified with test leads before launch.

  5. Launch and first review

I publish the page, run a final speed and tracking check, and look at early data with you. If the numbers point to a problem, such as a high drop-off at the form, we adjust.

Questions

  • Do you write the landing page copy as well as design it?

Yes, landing page copywriting is part of the service unless you already have copy you want to use. I write the headline, offer, benefits, proof and calls to action, and I match them to your ads. If you supply copy, I will still suggest edits where it fights the layout or the goal.

  • Do I need a landing page or a full website?

If you are running ads or a campaign with one goal, you need a landing page. If people should find you through search and compare several services, you need a website, and many businesses end up with both. The two do different jobs, and a campaign usually converts better on a focused page than on the homepage.

  • How fast will my landing page load?

A hand-coded page usually passes Core Web Vitals on mobile without special hosting, because there is so little to load. I check it in PageSpeed Insights before launch and fix whatever holds it back. Your ad, analytics and chat scripts also add weight, so I load them in the least harmful way and tell you what each one costs.

  • Can you connect the form to my CRM or email tool?

Yes. I connect forms to email, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Zoho, a Google Sheet or any tool with an API or webhook. Each lead can carry its UTM source and Google click ID, so you know which campaign it came from.

  • Will you set up Google Ads and GA4 conversion tracking?

Yes. I set up GA4 key events, Google Ads conversion actions and the Meta Pixel through Google Tag Manager, then test them with real submissions. If you want, I can also show you how GA4 and Search Console should be set up across the rest of your site.

  • Can you A/B test landing page variants?

Yes, when you have enough traffic for a test to mean something. Google Optimize was shut down in 2023, so I usually build two versions on separate URLs and split traffic with a Google Ads experiment or a testing tool you already use. With low traffic, it is better to change one big thing at a time and compare periods.

  • Can I edit the page myself after launch?

On a WordPress build, yes: headlines, text, images and testimonials are editable fields. On a hand-coded page, text edits need a developer, though I keep the code simple enough for anyone who knows basic HTML. Tell me who will be making changes and I will recommend the build that fits.
