Privacy policy
The short version: I collect only what you send me, use it only to reply and work with you, and set no cookies.
Who is responsible
This website belongs to Jay Gajjar, a freelance software developer based in Ahmedabad, India. I decide how the personal data described here is used. You can reach me about anything in this policy at jaygajjar.dev@gmail.com.
What I collect and why
When you send an enquiry. The contact form asks for your name, email address and a description of your project, and optionally your project type, budget range, timeline and current website. The page you sent it from is added automatically. I use this only to reply to you and, if we work together, to plan and deliver the project.
When you email me. I receive whatever you include in the email, and use it the same way.
Technical logs. Like any website, the hosting provider records basic request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site running and secure. I do not use these logs to identify visitors.
The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract, and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries and keeping the site secure.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set cookies, does not use advertising or tracking scripts, and does not store anything in your browser.
If I add analytics in future, this section will say which service and what it measures, and any tool that needs consent will ask for it first.
Who else processes your data
I do not sell or share your data for marketing. A few services handle it on my behalf:
- Google (Gmail) delivers contact form submissions to my inbox and hosts my email.
- The website host serves the pages and keeps the technical logs described above.
These providers may store data outside your country, including in the United States and India. They are used under their standard terms, which include data protection commitments.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted within 12 months. For clients, project correspondence is kept for as long as the work and any support continue, and invoices and related records for as long as tax law requires. You can ask me to delete your enquiry at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is used. Email me and I will reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, these rights come from the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation, India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or similar laws. If you are not satisfied with my answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
